Our certified wax foundation are thoroughly analyzed for counterfeiting, heavy metals and pesticides.
For this we work together with companies certified by the European Union, ILVO and research laboratories such as Intertek and Ceralyse. What is tested for: The melting behavior of the beeswax. No kink should be detected in the DSC diagram below 48 ° C. The melting point must be between 62 ° C and 65 ° C; Counterfeiting of beeswax. The beeswax is tested for the total number of hydrocarbons, saponification, acidity and esther number.
If these results are between the critical values, the beeswax is considered free from adulteration; Pesticides and Varroacides. The beeswax is tested for pesticides LC-MS & GC-MS and varroacides, covering more than 300 components.
A risk analysis is carried out on this result by external experts (ILVO); Heavy metals. It is checked whether the beeswax contains heavy metals such as Arsenic, Lead and Mercury. Upon simple request, we provide our customers with a copy of all these tests.
