This cover plate consists of 2 separate pieces, if you turn it inwards you get 2 openings where you can set up your manger or feed dough.

After wintering or supplementary feeding, you can turn it over again and place the holes on the outside on the edge of the brood box.

This way you’ll experience no heat loss and you can easily observe bees in the winter (or summer) without disturbing them.
