The enjoyable sun has hidden behind the clouds and the drizzling rain is back in the land. The "perfect" recipe to catch a cold and to obtain a lower resistance. Fortunately, we have royal jelly! Royal jelly is considered as a luxury product in the bee world. But our body also benefits from its beneficial properties packed with vitamins and minerals. Get rid of resistance-enhancing pilling, use royal jelly!

Royal jelly is to be found in the beehive, more specifically in the food glands of the worker bee. We can already see the corners of your mouth pulling down and while your mind says ew! Then you might want to consider that delicious honey originates from a bee's honey stomach. There you go! Back to business, royal jelly contains many advantages that make you forget its origin for a long time.

    What is royal jelly?

As mentioned before, the royal jelly comes from the worker bees. They produce this stuff between their sixth and tenth day of life. It is used to feed the larvae, or baby bees-to-be, for the first three days of their life. After that, the worker bees mainly focus on the larvae that are destined to become the next queen in the bee colony.

Once the queen is mature, she is still fed royal jelly, unlike the other bees that survive on pollen and honey. It is also a luxury product in the beehive itself! Royal jelly is packed with energy sources to make the queen huge and strong so she can lay up to 2000 eggs per day and survive for about five years. That is much longer than other bees. A drone or male bee lives for one to two months, a worker or female bee for one to four months.

Naturally, the bees are taken into account when harvesting royal jelly. As a result, it is not possible to get a lot of royal jelly from one hive. After five to six months, about 500 grams are harvested, which is very little. Should we repeat that royal jelly is considered a luxury product?

    Benefits for humans

Royal jelly is often used in cosmetics, in surgery and also in food. The product is rich in amino acids, proteins, mineral and oligo elements and is packed with vitamins (B, B, B3, B5, B6, B7, BB, B9, B12 A, C, D and E). The combination of all these substances ensures that our body and especially our resistance get a huge boost. Moreover, several studies have already proven that royal jelly has a positive effect on insulin secretion, blood pressure and even has an anti-tumor effect.

In addition to a healing effect, royal jelly can also fulfill a therapeutic effect for some people. For example, it helps certain people under heavy loads, such as during sports or during the recovery period after an illness. Even people who are tired or depressed can use royal jelly. It ensures a better sleep pattern and less stress.

What does royal jelly taste like?

We admit, royal jelly isn't the most delicious nutrient we've ever tasted. The first time we put it in our mouths, we felt a bit like a cow grazing and eating dry grass: a foul and bitter taste. Fortunately, something can be done about that! Mix the royal jelly with some honey or put it in your yogurt in the morning. This will ensure that bitter aftertaste to vanish.

Moreover, you only have to ingest one pinch a day. That corresponds to one gram, which is not much. If you notice that your resistance is really decreasing, it is best to mix two pinches through your yogurt. Children can also use royal jelly, but then it is recommended to ingest only half a gram per day. Need to reinvigorate your body? Follow our 30 days course!
